Green City e.V.

Green City is an environmental organisation that has been campaigning for a greener and more liveable Munich since 1990. With a team of 25 permanent employees and the support of over 1,600 committed volunteers and members, Green City is pursuing the goal of leading the city towards a more sustainable future. The organisation works in the areas of environmentally friendly mobility, responsible use of energy, sustainable urban design and environmental education for people of all ages.

A fundamental idea at Green City is the joy of environmental protection: this is why the organisation organises around 150 hands-on activities every year. These events, including the well-known Streetlife Festival, the walking tree avenue, urban gardening projects, the “Bus with Feet” project and clothes swap parties, offer Munich residents a variety of opportunities to actively and playfully get involved in environmental protection and make the city greener.

With its holistic approach and the conviction that joint action creates change, Green City actively contributes to a future-orientated, environmentally friendly and vibrant Munich.
