Thomas Vonier is a photographer and photojournalist from Munich. For over twenty years, he has been documenting people and their stories – on the street, at events and also in companies. His work follows a clear principle: observe, understand, show. Without staging, just as it happens.
As a photojournalist, he is interested in authenticity. He works where things happen and shows what has meaning beyond the moment. He is driven by the question of why people act the way they do. He tries to create closeness without becoming part of the action – visible enough to build trust, inconspicuous enough to be able to document undisturbed. Integrity and independence are prerequisites for him.
“My pictures are not meant to please – they are meant to have an impact!”
This experience also shapes his work for companies. The attention he needs on the street helps him to recognise authentic moments in any environment. He works precisely, with focus, and reacts quickly when situations change or take a turn. Whether it’s a business portrait or reportage, the key thing is that the image is compelling: honest, clear, with substance.
For him, photography means preserving traces. He sees himself as a contemporary witness who collects pieces of a puzzle that can one day become stories.
Every image is part of a larger context. That is precisely why his images should not merely please, they should have an impact.
